Spekes House, Holiday house on the North Devon coast
My family and I have recently come back from a weeks holiday in North Devon, which was quite simply wonderful. Spekes House has the most idyllic location that I have ever come across in the UK. The house enjoys a truly magical setting with wonderful views over the valley and out to the sea.
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the Hartland Peninsula, the house offers a comfortable rural escape to this beautiful and unspoilt stretch of English coastline and easy access to the many family activities and attractions of the area.
Spectacular cliff top walks are accessible from the front door, with a footpath running directly from the house down to the dramatic waterfall and beach at Spekes Mill Mouth and linking to the South West Coast Path. The accommodation is wonderful with space and views galore. It is centered around the dining room from which you can see the most beautiful of sunsets.
Owner Rubert Bedford has only recently made it available for holiday let, so it is a new discovery, and if you are planning a break in the UK, I don’t think you could find a better place! If you do decide to visit let KuBu know — we will all be jealous! Sasha Becejac
